Los Angeles Ultra Ladies Team Training combines hard work and supportive camaraderie through our love of trail running. Our program is perfectly designed to develop strength, endurance and speed. We have more than 25-years of experience coaching runners and hikers of all abilities… beginner through elite! You will be guided by our team of Ultra Running Mentors who will run the trails with you and share their knowledge to make your experience safe and enjoyable. UESCA Certified Ultra Running Coaches will work with you to build a personalized training plan for your season and monitor your progress -and- You will meet every Saturday for Tempo Runs or Group Long Runs in the Santa Monica Mountains. Ultra Ladies Team Training is an empowering experience that builds lasting friendships through sharing miles together. We look forward to seeing you soon! |

Thats okay! Just come out and run with us to see if Ultra Ladies is a good fit for you!
- Sign up anytime throughout the year! We will help you train for your preferred race.
- When you sign-up, you will have a telephone call with one of our UESCA Certified Coaches who will help you identify your race goals and build a personalized training plan followed by a second call to review the plan.
- Check in BI-weekly to record your mileage and comments on the training plan and share it with your coach who will review and make recommendations.
- Attend Long Runs with Team Ultra Ladies on Saturdays twice each month. Your mileage on each run will gradually build you into an ultra runner!
- Attend our two Tempo Runs each month on Saturdays!
- Enjoy participation in our Private Facebook Group and benefit from advice and coaching clinics given by your coaches.
MEMBERSHIP FEES:
- Each potential new member receives a 30-minute complimentary phone call to determine if Ultra Ladies is a good fit for them.
- The first payment is a Registration Fee of $150 that includes two telephone calls with a coach, a personalized training plan built just for you and your first month of coaching.
- The $150 registration fee is waived for returning members.

- Monthly Membership = $120 (paid on the first of each month)
- Three Month Membership = $330 (pre-paid)
- Six Month Membership = $600 (pre-paid)

- Learn everything A-Z about trail and ultra running.

- Four group training runs each month (2 long trail runs and 2 tempo runs) with the Ultra Ladies.
- "Ultra Ladies" Video Clinics and Zoom Meetings.
- Run with Ultra Running Mentors who will share their knowledge, tips and best advice for training.
- Membership in our private Facebook Group so you can communicate directly with your coaches, mentors and teammates.
- Training runs will be routed with toilets and water whenever possible.

Coach Nancy Shura-Dervin
aka Ultra Mama Coach Nancy is founder and owner of Ultra Ladies. She has coaching certifications through RRCA and UESCA and holds a CA Nursing License. Nancy has finished more than 100 races from marathon to 100+ mile distances and has consistently been a First Place Age Division Winner.
In 2003, Nancy became the first person documented to qualify for and complete two of the most prestigious foot races on the planet, in the same year; the Boston Marathon and the Badwater 135 Mile Ultra-Marathon. Nancy also has the nickname of "Blister Fairy" and she is often seen at 100-mile races, blister kit in hand, taking care of blistered feet. Nancy is also owner and race director for Trail Run Events, LLC and has produced some of Los Angeles' most iconic trail races including The Bulldog 50K Ultra Run and Cirque du Griffith Park 6/12/24Hrs & 100Mile! |
Coach Sarah Ter Har
Sarah Ter Har, a former high-school track and cross-country athlete and endurance runner of 27 years. Fueled by optimism, gritty determination and a passion for endurance running, Sarah finds motivation in experiencing beautiful views accessible only by foot and enjoys inspiring others to do the same.
Sarah holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a Minor in Business. Sarah worked several years as a director where she developed and coordinated large community events. This experience coupled with her love for the running community will transfer well as she gradually takes the lead with Ultra Ladies. Sarah is a UESCA Certified Coach and owner of Vuori Running and is about to receive her Nutrition Certification. Sarah will be specialize in helping endurance runners. When she isn’t spotted on the trails she can be found enjoying camping and traveling with her husband, daughter and two dogs. |
MEET YOUR MENTORS
Ultra Ladies Mentors are seasoned ultra runners who will run with you, answer your questions, get you through the rough patches and just be great role models! All of our mentors are seasoned ultra runners who have run with Ultra Ladies for at least one previous season. This gives them a wealth of information to share with you.

Melody Cottrell
Melody started training with ULs in 2016 and has finished every distance from 50k to 100Miles at JJ100 2018! Melody is expecting Baby #1 in January 2022!

Shannon has been an UL
since 2012 and has finished 27 ultras including the very difficult Cuyamaca 100k! Shannon is methodical runner who trains with purpose! |
Ivy Castillo
In 2018, Ivy suffered a painful DNF at mile 92 her first 100 attempt but she worked even harder and earned her 100-Mile Buckle in 2021 at the Javalina 100!

Danielle Awad
Danielle is an up-and-coming ultra runner since joining ULs.
She just completed the ultra hard SB-9Trails and will be running the BBT in February. She's already setting her sights on triple-digit-miles in 2022. |
